Our partners

Your tree will get a new lease of life! Our wonderful partners, OUTBACK Contractors, will be giving your used Christmas tree new life. After chipping it on site at the hospice, they will deliver all of the chippings to the Berkshire College of Agriculture so that they can use them for pathways, landscaping and animal enclosures.

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers and partners who have all helped to make this happen:

How much does it cost?

The Alexander Devine Christmas Tree Recycling Service is completely free of charge. However, we would welcome a voluntary donation for the collection of your tree. This has been a particularly challenging year for the hospice and your donation will make a huge difference to lives of the vulnerable children and families we care for locally.

90% of the money raised will go directly to Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice, and the remaining 10% will be donated to other local charities.

How do I book my collection?

Registration opens on Monday 16th November. We’re working in partnership with JustHelping to bring you this Christmas tree recycling service. Click here to register your tree.

Our volunteers will collect and recycle your tree. All you need to do is leave your tree outside, in a designated place before 9am on Saturday 9th January — but please take off the lights and tinsel first.

Is there a booking deadline?

Yes, all collection must be booked by Tuesday 5th January, no later than 12noon.

Who are JustHelping?

Their mission is to inspire and support people, businesses, charities and other organisations to contribute and volunteer in their local communities. The Charity Christmas Tree Collection is their only event of the year, in partnership with hospices around the country.

Is this service part of the RBWM Christmas Tree Collection?

No, this is a completely independent service and not part of the service provided by RBWM. 90% of money raised from this recycling service will go to funding the vital services we offer to local children and their families and 10% will go to other local charities.

Can I take part in the collection?

If you would like to get involved with the collection, and you have access to a van that you are insured to drive, please get in touch. Call us on 01628 822777 or email us at

I have another question…

Need our help?

The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.

Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and the surrounding counties. Anyone can make a referral to Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service and if you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
