Penguin Events scoops Local Business Charity Award
On Thursday 17 October, Windsor-based events company Penguins Events was announced as the winner of the Jelf Award at the inaugural Local Business Charity Awards for Berkshire.
Presenting them with the award on the night from Jelf was Mike Owen, CEO South:
‘Penguins Events have been the most incredible supporter of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service. Their expertise in events, management, providing audio visual and lighting at the charity’s annual balls and other special occasions has allowed the charity to put on first-class events and raise significant amounts of money. We applaud their generosity and are delighted to be announcing them as winners of the Jelf award this evening”
Commenting on their deserving win and the valuable part Penguin Events has played in supporting Alexander Devine since the charity was established, Debbie Tonkinson, Volunteer Co-ordinator, said:
“Penguins truly are deserving winners of this award. They have always been there beside us and have been so instrumental in our journey to create a children’s hospice service for Berkshire. They are much more than corporate partners; they are an integral part of the Alexander Devine Family!
Over the years, their support has enabled us to put on first-class fundraising events that have raised vital funds we need to run and grow our children’s hospice service. For example, they have supported us with support at all 11 of our annual Heaven Sent Balls that have collectively raised over £300k.
Big or small, whatever the occasion, they are always generously on hand to help. I remember what an amazing job they did last Christmas in helping to make the hospice so magical not just for staff and volunteers but also the extraordinary children and families we support.
We are so grateful for everything Penguins Events does for us and we are thrilled that they won this award. Huge congratulations to them!”
Need our help?
The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.
Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
