Will you be the Key to Helping to Unlock a Magical
Christmas for Elikai this year?
Hello, my name is Kim, an Alexander’s Nurse, and I help care for Elikai.
I’m privileged to be able to get to know children like Elikai, and alongside my colleagues, offer them care and experiences that are as unique and special as they are.
Elikai was born with a congenital brain abnormality, which means his brain didn’t develop properly. His parents were told it was unlikely he’d survive the pregnancy. Despite all the odds, Elikai is now three years old. Elikai is a very happy and resilient little boy, but life for him and his family continues to be incredibly challenging and unpredictable.
“Every day for us is different and we don’t know what is coming tomorrow with Elikai.
Unfortunately, it’s always on our mind that we will lose our child. Elikai has been coming to the hospice since he was one. The activities he does at the hospice are helping him to develop.
Elikai would not have progressed as far as he has without the hospice service and the activities he can access.
We can’t leave Elikai with just anyone and that makes working or doing anything for ourselves so difficult. Alexander Devine makes such a difference to our lives. There is no one else for us.”
Elikai’s parents, Annicka and Politon
Our hospice service is here for children like Elikai, so they can get the care, support and range of activities they cannot access anywhere else. With your help, we can be there to give Elikai all the care and opportunities he needs, and his parents practical and emotional support so that they can make the most of every day they have with Elikai.
Elikai’s parents, Annicka and Politon, don’t know what the future will hold, or how many more Christmases they will be able to spend with their beautiful boy.
Children like Elikai need your help this Christmas so that we can support him and his family, whatever the future holds.
Children like Elikai are extremely vulnerable. They have complex medical needs, are on multiple medications to manage their symptoms and can get poorly very quickly. This means that Elikai is unable to take part in activities like any other three-year-old would.
Children like Elikai need your help and wonderful support this Christmas so that he can continue to grow and flourish, and we can be with his family on their journey, whatever path that may take.
Your gift is key to opening doors to experiences that only we can provide, this Christmas and beyond.
We know these are difficult financial times for all, but please give what you can, knowing that it will make a difference. Thank you.
Every penny you give will mean so much to Elikai, Annicka and Politon, and the 200+ other local children in our care.
You can make a vital difference to their lives.
£25 could open our sensory room for a child to explore and experience the magic.
£52 could give a child an hour of fun, smiles and a host of possibilities at our hospice.
£96 could bring music and laughter to a splash session in our hydrotherapy pool.
