Splunk UK Charity Walk Raises Over £6,000 for Alexander Devine
We are thrilled to announce the success of the recent Charity Walk organised by Splunk UK in support of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.
On Wednesday 18 September 2024, thirty-five enthusiastic walkers, including Splunk UK employees and team members from their partner, World Wide Technology, accompanied by two loyal dogs, embarked on a 14.5-mile (23km) trek from Marlow, Buckinghamshire, to Windsor, Berkshire, raising an incredible £6,000 for the hospice. This included match funding and Gift Aid contributions.
Before setting off, participants were warmly hosted by The Little Green Boat Company, who provided a delightful morning coffee and bacon rolls, fueling everyone for the walk ahead. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie, and team members from across sales, customer success, presales, legal, and partners joined together in this shared adventure. The event was an amazing effort for a great cause, but also allowed new connections to be made within the business, and existing friendships to flourish.
The route offered scenic views along the Thames, with everyone pacing themselves according to their ability. It was an inclusive event, with participants walking at their own speed, ensuring everyone could take part, whether seasoned walkers or first-timers. The spirit of the day was one of teamwork, kindness, and community, and the support shown by Splunk UK’s employees was truly heartwarming.
We would like to offer our thanks and great appreciation to Matt Spence, Eddie Lynskey and Mark Andrew from Splunk UK as well as their partner World Wide Technology for organising this incredible event.
At the end of the day, the total raised exceeded our wildest expectations, and we are so grateful to Splunk UK for their incredible contribution to the children and families we support. This donation will make a meaningful difference to the work we do, helping children with life-limiting conditions receive the care they need.
Tai Bishop, Lead for Corporate and Community Partnerships at Alexander Devine, shared her gratitude: “We are absolutely blown away by the dedication and generosity of the Splunk UK team. Every step they took will make a real difference to the lives of the babies, children, young people and families we care for, and we are so grateful for their incredible and continued support.”
There’s Still Time to Give!
