Families of seriously ill children in Berkshire supported by £10,722,514 partnership with Morrisons 

A partnership between the UK’s leading children’s palliative care charity, Together for Short Lives, and Morrisons has raised £10,722,514 in just two years and nine months. 

Through the support of local Morrisons stores and sites, £10,722,514 has been raised for hospices like Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, making a significant difference to the lives of the babies, children and young people and their families it supports. 

Alexander Devine is a Maidenhead-based charity that provide specialist care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire and into surrounding counties.  

Throughout the partnership, colleagues at Morrisons stores across the country have been raising vital funds for children’s hospices like Alexander Devine in many different ways, such as in-store fundraisers, marathons, treks, skydives and more. 

Alexander Devine has also benefited from Morrisons’ in-store promotional event, Every Pack Gives Back, and a number of charity products such as a branded Together for Short Lives bear, a tote bag and pin badges. 

Tai Bishop, Lead for Corporate and Community Partnerships at Alexander Devine said: “”The incredible partnership between Morrisons and Together for Short Lives has been a game-changer for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.”  

She continued, “Thanks to the £10.7 million raised nationwide, the generosity of Morrisons colleagues and customers has directly impacted the care and support we can offer to families in our community. From in-store events to charity products, their efforts have brought hope and smiles to so many of the children and families we care for. It’s truly inspiring to see what we can achieve together.” 

Together for Short Lives CEO, Nick Carroll said: “The Morrisons partnership has allowed us to raise millions for children’s hospices across the UK, just like Alexander Devine, which are a lifeline to seriously ill children and their families. We have already witnessed the significant impact this has had on families in Berkshire and are extremely grateful for the support of Morrisons colleagues and customers.” 

Thanks to the Morrisons partnership, Together for Short Lives has: 

Raised £6.5 million for children’s hospices, which could provide 215,685 hours of vital care. 

  • Created precious memories through events and activities for 6,223 family members 
  • Enabled 30 hospices to complete vital renovations, build new facilities and purchase new equipment, including accessible playgrounds and bereavement counselling cabins. 
  • Reached 1,415 new families through our community outreach work, enabling more families to access the support they need. 
  • Provided 756 families with emergency support, including Cost-of-Living support grants, Crisis pantry Morrisons food deliveries, and Bereavement grants to fund funeral costs.
