A Special Visitor: Anna Friel’s Inspiring Visit to Alexander Devine 

Last week, we were delighted to welcome award-winning actress and local resident, Anna Friel, to Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service. Her visit was a heartwarming and inspiring experience for everyone involved, as she took the time to learn more about our vital work. 

Anna’s compassion and enthusiasm were evident from the moment she arrived. She was eager to hear about the support we provide to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as the bespoke care we offer to their families. From our sensory room to our tranquil gardens, Anna explored the spaces where children and families can find joy, comfort, and moments of respite during the most challenging times of their lives. 

As someone with a deep understanding of the importance of raising awareness for meaningful causes, Anna shared invaluable insights with our team about the power of storytelling and visibility in campaigns. Her experience in lending her voice to charitable initiatives brought fresh perspectives to how we can share the stories of the incredible children and families we support. 

Anna very generously gave her time to stop and have a cup of tea and a chat with our team members, who enjoyed having the opportunity to meet her and talk to her about her various roles on stage and screen, and about her life and experiences.  

Her visit was not only a boost to our team but also a reminder of the power of advocacy in raising the profile of our mission. We are incredibly grateful for Anna’s kindness, support, and determination to help us reach more families who need our care.
