Alexander Devine launches unique mobile coffee van, Compassionate Coffee

A vintage 1968 ambulance is getting a new lease of life as Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service launches Compassionate Coffee – a new social enterprise bringing great coffee, community connection and vital fundraising together.

Meet Connie, Alexander Devine’s lovingly restored vintage ambulance, which has swapped her blue lights for coffee beans and is now ready to serve up Compassionate Coffee at events across the local community.

Having once been used to help people in need, Connie is now continuing that mission in a very different way. Available to hire for weddings, corporate events, festivals, village fetes, private parties and community gatherings, Connie serves locally roasted coffee, tea, cold drinks and pastries, with 100% of her profits supporting Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.

Every cup served helps fund specialist care and support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and the families who love and care for them.

A cup of coffee from Connie funds around 2.5 minutes of specialist care, helping provide precious moments of comfort, connection and support for local families.

There has been a real community input to get to the launch day, supported by local coffee roastery Moneyrow Beans, which has created a custom coffee blend especially for Compassionate Coffee.

The launch marks an exciting new chapter for Alexander Devine, taking the charity into the retail and hospitality space while creating opportunities to connect with new audiences and businesses.

“Compassionate Coffee is about so much more than coffee. It’s about creating connections, opening conversations and giving people another way to support local families who rely on Alexander Devine’s service.

“We’re incredibly excited to see where Connie takes us and hope she’ll become a familiar and much-loved sight at events across our community.”

With her distinctive vintage character and purpose at heart, Connie is available to hire for events large and small.

Whether it’s serving coffee to colleagues at a corporate event, adding something memorable to a wedding, welcoming visitors at a community fete or bringing a little extra warmth to a local celebration, Connie is ready to pour a cup of compassion.
