Meet #TeamDevine: Helen Bennett, our Director of Care

Over the next few weeks, we want to tell you more about the extraordinary people that make up our Alexander Devine Team.

First up is our Director of Care, Helen Bennett. She has been with Alexander Devine for over 8 years and is responsible for managing the vital services that we provide to our children and their families.

The current crisis has presented huge challenges to the way families can continue to access the care that they desperately need as well as how Alexander’s Care Team operates on a daily basis. Helen has been steering the changes that we have needed to make to our services in order to keep the families as well as our Care Team safe.

She told us that during these unprecedented times, staying connected with her team and finding ways to support them is one of her key priorities:

“As we move into a fourth week of remote working, we are finding new ways to stay in touch and keep up to date. Never has it been more important to stay connected and support one another with the work we do. The opportunity to discuss the caseload and plan for the week is essential and although not in person it is good to talk and see one another face to face, albeit virtually.

 

“When the day has been tough, what we miss is the contact and being able to give a colleague a hug. But the time together is essential to enable Alexander’s Care Team to continue with the amazing work they do.”
