Reddam House Pupils Add a Splash of Colour to Fundraising for Alexander Devine
We are thrilled to share the wonderful efforts of pupils from Reddam House, an independent school just down the road from us in Wokingham, Berkshire, who recently took part in a colourful and energetic fundraising event for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.
Organised by the school’s Parents and Friends Association (PFA), the pupils completed a lively colour run, raising an incredible £754.01 in support of our vital work.
Reddam House is known for its strong community spirit and commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals. The independent school provides a dynamic and forward-thinking educational experience for pupils of all ages, from early learning right through to sixth form. With a philosophy that focuses on inspiring young people to grow and learn through both academic and extracurricular activities, it’s no surprise that their students were eager to participate in such a fun and meaningful event.
The colour run, organised by the PFA, was an exciting and vibrant way to bring the school together while supporting a local cause. Pupils ran through bursts of colourful powder, creating a kaleidoscope of smiles and laughter as they made their way around the course. It was a joyful event that encouraged physical activity, teamwork, and of course, a little bit of mess—all in the name of charity!
The funds raised will help Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service continue our mission of providing essential care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families. Our work includes delivering specialist palliative care, respite, and end-of-life support, as well as services such as music therapy, sensory play, and counselling.
The generosity of the Reddam House pupils and their community enables us to reach even more families in need and continue offering our holistic and compassionate care, free of charge.
A huge thank you goes out to Reddam House, its wonderful pupils, and the dedicated PFA for organising such a successful event.
Alexander Devine Community and Events Fundraiser, Jazmin Parker, said of the event: ““We are so grateful to the pupils and families of Reddam House for their incredible support. The colour run was such a fun way to raise funds, and the generosity shown will help us continue to provide vital care for the children and families who rely on our services.”
We are so grateful for your ongoing support, and we look forward to future collaborations with this vibrant school community. Every step taken in the colour run has made a lasting impact on the lives of the children and families we support.
Need our help?
The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.
Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
