A Shining Partnership: GEMS Gower Event Management’s Support for Alexander Devine

At Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, we are incredibly fortunate to have the ongoing support of so many generous individuals and businesses.

One such partnership that continues to help us create memorable and successful events is GEMS Gower Event Management Services Ltd. GEMS have played a vital role in providing top-tier audio-visual equipment for many of our key fundraising events, ensuring they run smoothly and are truly enjoyable for all in attendance.

Most recently, GEMS was instrumental in making our Sparkling Afternoon Tea a great success by ensuring that the band, guests and speakers could be heard and seen! This ABBA-themed event raised over £8,000 for our hospice, saw 140+ guests come together for an afternoon of delicious food, live music, and fun.

As the guests arrived at our purpose built marquee, they were welcomed to some smooth jazz music through the sound system provided by GEMS. This was followed by a message from our speakers using the microphones and speakers that GEMS had installed that morning. Experts from GEMS had briefed us on how it all worked, which meant our initial technical issues were a breeze to sort out!

Alongside the generosity of many other supporters, including our Patron, world-class chocolatier Mark Tilling, and the backing of sponsors like Volvo Cars, it was crucial that our event had a professional and seamless presentation. Thanks to GEMS, that’s exactly what we achieved.

GEMS provided a complete AV setup for the event, including microphones, speakers, a high-quality sound system, and staging. This allowed us to deliver speeches, play music, and ensure that all attendees could enjoy every moment of the afternoon.

Whether it was during Debbie McGee’s exciting raffle draw, updates from our CEO Fiona Devine MBE, a heartfelt thank you from Mark Tilling or the lively ABBA hits circulating in the air throughout the tea service, the sound was crystal clear. Their expertise meant that we could focus on enjoying the day, confident that everything technical was taken care of.

This level of support is nothing new from GEMS. They have been quietly working behind the scenes at our events for some time now, always ensuring that our sound systems, microphones, and stages are set up perfectly. From intimate gatherings to larger charity events, their team is always a pleasure to work with – professional, friendly, and fully committed to our cause.

We are so grateful for the continued partnership with GEMS, whose contribution goes beyond just equipment. Their support allows us to host events that help raise vital funds for our hospice services, from respite care to sibling support and our Transition Team.

The money raised at events like our Sparkling Afternoon Tea directly helps children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, providing them and their families with the care and support they need.

For those looking to organise a corporate event, a special celebration, or even just a private gathering, we can highly recommend GEMS Gower Event Management Services. Their attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional AV services will ensure that your event runs smoothly from start to finish.

Need our help?

The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.
