Thank You to the Windsor and Maidenhead YFC for Their Charity Tractor and Car Wash

We are thrilled to say a huge thank you and well done to the Windsor and Maidenhead Young Farmers Club for their tractor and car wash event in support of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, which took place this past weekend.

Thanks to their incredible hard work, enthusiasm, and the generosity of those who stopped by for a wash, the club raised a whopping £850! This money will go a long way in helping us provide the vital care and support that babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions need.

The event was held at Ladds Garden Centre, where the club transformed the car park into a bustling scene of activity. A steady stream of cars and tractors rolled in throughout the day, with everyone keen to support such a worthy cause.

The club’s dedication and energy shone through as they cleaned vehicles big and small, raising both funds and awareness for Alexander Devine. We are incredibly grateful to Ladds Garden Centre for kindly allowing their space to be used, making this wonderful fundraising event possible.

The Windsor and Maidenhead Young Farmers Club is part of the larger Berkshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs, which provides young people aged 10 to 28 with opportunities to learn new skills, meet like-minded individuals, and contribute to their local community through agricultural activities and events.

This isn’t just a group of young people passionate about farming – they’re also committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others, as shown by their incredible efforts at the charity tractor and car wash. It’s wonderful to see how they’ve turned their love of farming into a way of helping local causes like ours.

At Alexander Devine, we rely on the generosity of people and groups like the Windsor and Maidenhead Young Farmers Club. As a charity, only 17% of our funding comes from the government, which means we are dependent on fundraising efforts and the kindness of our supporters to continue providing the specialised care our children and families need. Fundraising events like this tractor and car wash are the heartbeat of our service – without them, we simply couldn’t continue our work.

The money raised from this event will directly support the many families who rely on us, offering respite care, emotional support, and end-of-life care for children across Berkshire and beyond. Every pound raised makes a real difference, and this incredible £850 will go a long way towards ensuring we can continue to be there for the children and families who need us the most.

We cannot thank the Windsor and Maidenhead Young Farmers Club enough for their dedication to our cause, and we are so proud of the fantastic total they have raised. It is through the hard work and determination of community groups like this that we are able to keep our doors open and continue offering our essential services.

Their contribution is truly inspiring, and we hope it will encourage others to get involved in fundraising for Alexander Devine.

If you or someone you know is interested in hosting a fundraising event for us, we would love to hear from you! Whether it’s a tractor and car wash, a bake sale, a sponsored walk, or something else entirely, every event makes a difference. Contact our fundraising team at fundraising@alexanderdevine.org

Need our help?

The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.

Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
