Calling All Knitters and Crocheters: Alexander Devine’s Big Spring Knit Returns for 2026

Local knitters and crocheters are invited to pick up their needles and hooks once again, as the much-loved Big Spring Knit returns for 2026.

Each year, talented crafters from across the UK come together to create hundreds of adorable knitted and crocheted chicks and Easter-themed characters, each carefully wrapped around a chocolate egg. These handmade creations are then sold within the local community, raising vital funds for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.

Participants can knit or crochet from the comfort of their own homes and simply drop off their completed items at the hospice by Monday 16th February 2026. Every stitch helps make a real difference to our supported families.

Funds raised through the Big Spring Knit help Alexander Devine continue providing specialist care and vital support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as their families, across Berkshire, South Bucks and into surrounding counties.

Not a knitter or crocheter? Don’t worry, you can still get involved during the Easter period by purchasing one of the charming handmade creations online or by selling them within your workplace or school.

With Easter just a chirp away, the Big Spring Knit is a wonderful way for the community to come together, get creative and help support local families when they need it most.
