Spring of Smiles

Your support this Spring will help to create more beautiful smiles like Hattie’s.

When Hattie is at the hospice she always has a beaming smile guaranteed to brighten everyone’s day.

Hattie has a rare genetic life-limiting condition, global developmental delay, and epilepsy. She needs 24hr care, which can have a huge impact on the whole family.

At Alexander Devine we are focused on supporting the whole family in whatever way they need.  When Hattie visits the hospice for respite we can fill her day with smiles, fun and laughter.  Her family can then have a break from providing full-time care and the comfort of knowing she is being well looked after.

Hattie’s complex health conditions mean she is very restricted in what she is able to do, however with our expert care and wonderful facilities Hattie is able to enjoy all her favourite activities with us, such as splash sessions in the pool, music therapy and playing on the swings.

“The support we receive from Alexander Devine is invaluable to our family. Hattie adores visiting the hospice for respite. Although she is non-verbal, the way her eyes light up and her massive smile tells us she loves being there.”

Abbie, Hattie’s mum.

Get involved with our Spring of Smiles

To support us with our mission this spring we are providing lots of activities and events, for the children we support and their families. We are hosting our sibling days, which are known to be full of play and adventures, we host our annual Spring Family Funday – an event that is guaranteed to make everyone in the family smile, and planning in lots of extra spring fun and treats for the children that we support.

No gift is too small to make a difference this spring. We rely nearly entirely on fundraising, donations and gifts in Wills to cover our costs, which means your support makes our specialist care, fun and memory-making possible.

Help us create a Spring of Smiles

A donation to Alexander Devine’s Spring of Smiles will help us create precious smiles like Hattie’s for local children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families.

Here are a few ways your donations could make a difference:

A gift of £5 could fund arts and crafts resources to create smiles for a child at our hospice, in their own home or in hospital.

A gift of £21 could help bring smiles to a family by funding an activity for them at our Spring Family Fun Day.

A gift of £51 could gift a child with complex needs, time with an Alexander’s Nurse and allow their parents a much needed break.

A gift of £93 could fund a splash session in our hydrotherapy pool, time for a family to come together and have fun.
