A Heartfelt Thank You to Kyowa Kirin International PLC for Supporting Alexander Devine

At Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, we are incredibly fortunate to be supported by amazing corporate partners who dedicate their time and resources to help us provide vital care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families.

Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming three wonderful volunteers from Kyowa Kirin International PLC, also known as KKI: Sonya Flora, Tharindu Silva, and Sudeep Gupta.

Sonya, Tharindu, and Sudeep spent a day volunteering with us, helping to organise toys that had been generously donated by the public. Their hard work didn’t stop there. They also helped prepare lucky dips, raffle prizes, and hamper bags that will play a key role in raising funds for our hospice over the coming festive season.

These items will be sold in various fundraising activities over the next few months, and their efforts will contribute directly to the care and support we are able to provide for our families.

Volunteering isn’t just about helping with the day-to-day running of the hospice – it’s about making a real difference in the lives of the children and families who rely on us. Sonya, Tharindu, and Sudeep’s contribution will help ensure that we can continue to deliver the specialist care that is so crucial to those who need it most.

By dedicating their time and energy, they have helped us prepare for the busy Christmas season, a time when we rely heavily on community support to fund our services.

The kindness and commitment demonstrated by Kyowa Kirin International PLC is something we deeply value, and we are so grateful for their ongoing support. It is through the generosity of our corporate partners, like KKI, that we are able to continue our mission and offer our care free of charge at the point of entry to families across Berkshire and the surrounding counties.

We are always on the lookout for more corporate partners to join us in our efforts to make a difference. If you would like to spend some time with us, please email our Volunteer Development Manager, Debbie Tonkinson, at debbiet@alexanderdevine.org

Volunteering opportunities are available year-round, and whether it’s organising toys, helping with events, or lending a hand with administrative tasks, every hour spent volunteering helps us achieve something truly special.

For businesses, volunteering offers a chance to give back to the community while fostering team spirit and making a tangible impact. We know that life is busy, but even dedicating just one day can make a world of difference to the children and families we support. Volunteering is also a wonderful way for colleagues to bond outside the office, while contributing to an important cause.

Need our help?

The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.

Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
