The Co-op Local Community Fund: Here’s How You Can Help Us Make a Difference!

We are thrilled to announce that Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service has been selected as a beneficiary of the Co-op Local Community Fund for 2024-2025.

This incredible opportunity means that Co-op members can help us raise essential funds to continue delivering care and support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families.

Out of 2,500 charities chosen this year, we are one of the lucky organisations selected for this generous initiative. Each Co-op community, which includes both local food stores and funeral care locations, will support three local charities, and £6,000 has been made available in each community.

The amount we receive depends on the number of Co-op members who choose to support us, so we’re asking everyone to consider selecting our cause.

How It Works

From October 20, 2024, all Co-op members will receive an email inviting them to select a local cause to support. Membership is just £1, and members can choose our cause through the Co-op app or member website.

The process is simple: with every purchase members make, a portion will go towards our charity, and we’ll receive at least £1,000, with the potential for much more depending on the number of supporters.

We’ll receive two payments from Co-op: a set payment of £500 in Spring 2025 and a final grant in November 2025 based on the total number of members who’ve selected us.

Funds raised through this partnership can be used right away, helping us make a timely impact for the children and families we support.

Help Us Raise Awareness

Because Co-op members across the UK can choose our cause, sharing our unique URL (below) will be crucial. When members use this link, they can choose our cause from anywhere, regardless of location, so spreading the word on social media and among friends and family is key.

Additional Benefits

Ten lucky Co-op members will also win £500 each month in the “Winners Share It All” initiative, which means our cause could receive a bonus of £5,000!

Plus, our team will connect with local Co-op colleagues and community members, giving us even more opportunities to share our mission and raise awareness.

Thank you for supporting us through this exciting partnership with Co-op. Together, we can make a real difference for children and families in need.

Need our help?

The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.

Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
