Children’s Hospice Week 2019: ‘Moments that Matter’
This week it is Children’s Hospice Week and across our social media platforms we will be sharing stories about ‘moments that matter’, from our families and our CEO Fiona Devine.
What does ‘moments that matter’ mean to most of us? For some of us it might be a wedding day or a sky day, a proud parenting moment or a work promotion. For the children and their families that our children’s hospice service supports, ‘moments that matter’ can mean something else entirely.
Sir Michael Parkinson CBE, our Founder Patron, spoke to Helen Bennett, Director of Care at Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service, about the important work we do in creating those special moments that matter to our families. Need our help?
The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.
Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
