Record amount raised from our annual curry night fundraiser!
On Tuesday 28th February, we held our Big Curry Night at the hospice and we are thrilled to share that this sell-out evening raised an incredible £4,410.35!
The fantastic chefs at Sultan restaurant cooked up a delicious Indian banquet for our guests to enjoy. And for those familiar with our traditional curry nights, granny’s trifle made a star appearance on the dessert table.
It was a brilliant evening made possible by so many amazing people. From our very generous guests to everyone who supported our curry night – thank you so much for helping to make it such a fun and successful evening.
Holding an annual curry fundraiser is a special tradition for our charity that reaches back 14 years. The event was originally called Scrummy Mummy, which was the affectionate nickname Alexander gave to his mum Fiona, our CEO and Co-Founder. The event brings together some of Alexander’s favourite foods – curry and his granny’s trifle. Our very first Scrummy Mummy took place in 2007 in the hall of Alexander’s school with Fiona serving curry to local supporters. Since then we have hosted it at a number of venues across our community, and even went virtual during the pandemic!
Need our help?
The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.
Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
