12 Days of Christmas: Seven Fundraising Campaigns

As the holiday season approaches, we’re feeling incredibly grateful for the generosity and community spirit that has supported us through 2024.

In this seventh instalment of our ‘12 Days of Christmas’ series, we are shining a festive spotlight on seven amazing fundraising campaigns that have helped make a difference to the children and families we support.

Let’s unwrap the stories behind the incredible efforts and celebrate the magic of giving together!

A Year of Giving: Maidenhead Young Farmers, Berkely Homes and Splunk

We are overwhelmed by the support from individuals, businesses, schools, and foundations throughout the year. Some highlights include the Maidenhead Young Farmers’ car and tractor wash, which brought in £830, Berkeley Homes’ endurance go-karting event, and Splunk UK’s charity walk from Marlow to Windsor, which raised an impressive £6,000.

These events are just the tip of the iceberg, with so many more groups and individuals rallying to support our cause. To every fundraiser, we send our heartfelt thanks – your efforts ensure we can continue providing vital care.

The Mayor of Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s Dinner: Raising Spirits and Funds

This year’s Mayor’s Dinner brought the community together for an elegant evening of dining, laughter, and generosity, raising over £6,000. A huge thank you to the Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Counsellor Simon Bond, for championing our cause and to everyone who attended for your support. Every bite, toast, and raffle ticket purchased during the evening helped bring hope and care to the families we serve.

Golfing for Good: Devine Golf Day

With a stunning backdrop at North Hants Golf Club, our Devine Golf Day raised a phenomenal £21,120! From corporate teams to avid golfers, everyone who participated helped drive this event to success. Special thanks to our title sponsors, Briggs Equipment and Berkeley Group, as well as our volunteers who kept everything on par. This was truly a tee-rific day!

A Sparkling Afternoon Tea

ABBA hits, delicious treats, and a room filled with joy and generosity – our Sparkling Afternoon Tea in association with Volvo Cars was a runaway success. With 143 attendees and contributions from our Patron, world-class chocolatier Mark Tilling, the event raised £8,113. To everyone who attended, volunteered, or donated, thank you for making this event as dazzling as its name.

Write Your Will Week: Planning with Purpose

This year, our Write Your Will Week not only helped people take a meaningful step in their estate planning but also raised vital funds for our hospice. Thanks to NE Family Law, who donated generously, we are able to continue offering our specialist care and support. It’s heartwarming to see how planning for the future can make such a big impact today.

Santa Dash: A Festive Fun Run

What is better than hundreds of Santa’s running through Windsor on a crisp December morning? Knowing they raised an incredible £32,868 to support children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Our annual Santa Dash never fails to fill the air with holiday cheer, and this year’s turnout of 500 participants made it extra special. A huge thank you to everyone who dashed, walked, or cheered from the sidelines.

Elikai, Our Christmas Star: A Gift of Love

As we reflect on the incredible generosity we have seen this year, we are calling on our community to support our Christmas Appeal. This campaign is the heart of our festive season, helping us bring joy and comfort to the children and families we care for. Every donation makes a difference, whether it’s funding a therapy session, helping us provide respite care, or simply making a child’s Christmas a little brighter.

Please consider donating to our Christmas Appeal and sharing the spirit of giving.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has fundraised, volunteered, or donated this year. Your support means the world to us and the families we support.

Together, we are making the season’s message of love and kindness a reality.

Need our help?

The word hospice should not seem scary and getting support from us doesn’t have to mean a child’s death is imminent. Helping to enrich the lives of the children and their families is at the heart of our service, our end of life and bereavement support is just a part of what we do.

Our children’s hospice service covers the whole of Berkshire and into surrounding counties. If you think your child may be eligible for our services, please do get in touch.
